Well we gave Banks a shot for the first time on the south end at Coulee City. We set out at about 07:30 and within 10 minutes we had the first 2 walleyes. I thought it was going to be a fast day with limits caught for the 3 of us. Turned out that the bite was on then shut off for an hour then back on again. We managed to catch 10 walleyes in 6 hours with one fish at 22” and the others were 15-16” fish. All the fisherman I spoke with said the fishing was slow and I would have to agree with them.

We did hook into what felt like a submarine, but after about 5 minutes of fighting and line ripping out of the reel, we landed a tail hooked 10# carp. My 9 yr. old had fun fighting that fish. All fish were caught in 20 – 40 FOW trolling bottom bouncers on planer boards at .8 – 1.3 mph, mostly with the wind pushing the boat. We pretty much caught fish on anything we threw at them once we located the fish. Each rod had different color spinners (yellow, black w/ gold, green, purple) and all spinners caught fish pretty much equally. We fished near Goose Island and once we found the weed beds, it was fish on.
Not much size to the mass population of walleye but it was nice to be on the water with a cool breeze.

Sounds like a great family day! I will never forget catching my first carp on the snake river. It was the biggest fish I had ever seen and an epic battle for a 10 yr old :)
