My two brothers and I took out our brand new Smoker Craft Phantom 202 for its first salt water shake down fishing trip today. We got a really late start and launched out of Kingston at 11 AM. I marked some bait balls and a few fish in about 300 ft of water as we motored over to Possession bar but by the time I got us turned around we couldnt find them again.

The tide was going out so we trolled the north side of Possession staying in the 90-140' depth range. We caught one shaker almost immediately. About a 1/2 hour later we landed a 26" wild black mouth that looked to be around 7 pounds maybe. That was the last fish we saw except for one really nice size fish we saw being eaten by a large seal. Marked a few more on the sounder but none interested in our setups. We mainly trolled with herring and spoons. We caught the one fish on a chartreuse spoon with no flasher. Tried mooching around the bar and then over along Pt No Point later in the day with no luck.

Beautiful day on the water though!

Please don't take the wild fish out of the water. It was illegal to remove that fish from the water and if you don't know what i'm talking about you need to go over the rule book.
Congratulations on the new boat!

Thanks for pointing that out. We had obviously not read the rule book closely enough.
