Opening day skunk report. We ran up north to the casino and fished from 45-60 feet of water, with divers and herring. We trolled and trolled with one take down that didn't stick. At around noon we figured out why the fish may have scattered..Orcas. Lots of Orcas, dolphins/porpoise, and sea lions. The sea lions were rafted up tight, like shoulder to shoulder. They were all just north of Ocean Shores in about 30 feet of water, feeding on something. Pretty cool to see, I guess. Would have liked to see a rod double over a few times instead, but oh well. We'll be back to try again later. The fish checkers said it was slow, with a few fish caught from the windmills to the casino.

We saw the same thing. North was a waste of time and we didn't get a sniff on divers and bait. Went out to 140 feet of water and used downriggers to keep flashers and spoons within 5 to 10 feet from the bottom. Picked up 4 but had to leave once the water started to get real bumpy.

Yeah Dan360, thanks for the info. My buddy went 5-9 up north early that morning, probably the only 5 fish up there. LoL

Hope the Orcas are eating some sea lions.
