Told myself I wasn't going to do it, but my addiction got the best of me. I ran down to the 112th hole at lunch to check things out. Thought it'd be packed to the gills (no pun intended) and crazy. Surprisingly not so. Of course there were plenty of people there, but I was able to get a parking spot and with the water being low due to low tide, I had no problem finding a spot to cast a line. Decided to get some practice in with my Coho twitching jigs, so took that gear with me. There were people fishing most of the holes, but not crowded and a couple boats anchored in the hole below the foot bridge. Saw some Kings jumping (most had some color to them). Talking to spectators and those around me, it sounded like there were not many fish being caught (if any). Fished for about 40 minutes and only saw one hook up during that time by the guy next to me, but it was brief and suspect he might have snagged a King, but that's speculation. I tried a variety of color combos, but all resulted in the same. Good practice though as my 1/4 oz jigs are much lighter than the 3/4 oz buzz bomb I've been using at the beach, so have to get used to them again.
Many people cleared out by the time I left. Me thinks it's a bit early that high on the river.
