Report #12:

Arrived at the river at 6:30, and fished until 8:30. At first glance, there didn't seem to be much action on the surface. After 20 minutes, I hooked into my first fish, using a #3 mepps spinner; A very small jack which I kept for tonight's dinner ??. 15 minutes later I hook into another fish which feels significantly larger. And yes it was much larger... A 27" hen! At one point it wrapped around a log in the water, however I was able to free it and land the fish. Now I was very happy! Before leaving for work, I finished the morning off with one more jack of decent size. Once the sun came up, the fish seemed to go deeper and the action stopped.

Nice job, I was ready to go this am and knew the tide was right, but too busy at work! I have been going around noon, and they are not as prone to bite!

Using a dick mite always seem to work the best for me in the Duwamish. Try using the nickel frog or 50/50

Yeah, I've been contemplating using dick nites, as I know they work very well. Might give it a go tomorrow.

Hi Artisan. Did you catch all 3 fish on a spinner?
