Took my buddy Jay to Rufus to chase some eyes. We launched at 0600 and headed down river from Seaton's Grove. We only found one place that was holding fish and managed to catch 9. A pretty slow day all around. Kept 6, released 3 including one about 5 lbs. Also caught a whitefish. I caught mine on jigs and Jay had his best luck with a blade bait. Water temperature was 46 so the bite should be picking up in the next couple of weeks.

No, the boats fishing for trout are still quite numerous. They are coming and going constantly.

Mark,
Man I'm glad I took my brother fishing on the ARM instead of heading to Rufus! If you guys only managed 9 that means we would've maybe caught 3 or so! I'm excited to start heading down their as I've had a lot of fun trying to learn that stretch over the last couple years!

I think the colder water is delaying the spawn. The Arm is about a month ahead of Rufus it would appear. The post cold front probably didn't help either. I know I can go and catch a bunch of nice eaters on the Arm but Rufus can be a nice opportunity to catch and release a big eye.
