Sammamish Cutties Part Deaux.

Fireman Bob and I got the fuel supply issue fixed from last week. Launched approx 7:00 am. Ran out to buoy area with the big motor this time. Yeah! 4-5 other boats already fishin. Had sporadic success early but the bite didn't come on for us until late morning. CPR'ed around 8 or so. All cookie cutters with the largest around 16-17 inches.

Thoughts to consider: Why does the lunar/solunar tables show excellent days and sometimes it's not? Probably operator error is my guess. Also what's up with the pelagic perch in Sammamish. To me catching perch while trolling with no bait in water 80-100 ft deep and the balls in the 20-30 ft range seems odd. Any thoughts?

Sorry, no pics this time. Refer to previous report for similar views of the fish. Would have been a 5 star if they wanted to play like last week.

Tight lines y'all.

Good report! I enjoyed it, and yeah, what's up with all the pelagic perch? Last time out, I caught 4 big perch trolling well away from shore at about 20 feet. If you like perch, they were big. Tight lines.

Pelagic perch, funny! I had a ruined trout trolling trip due to those perch in the middle of that lake a few years ago. I couldnt find any place to troll, deep shallow.... I had a perch or two hooked before I could let my lines out.

As the lake warms, the o2 saturation goes down, they may be suspending high for oxygen? Oxygen or food. Not crazy spawn behaviour, that happens in spring, shallow weedy areas I think.

Ive seen this before in other lakes too, just not as extreme. Ive caught rashes of catfish and burbot in other lakes during the heat of the summer...... I havent figured it out
