Report for friday and Saturday 10-15 & 16. Got a late start friday (2 pm), launched at 7-bays and headed for the creek. 5 very nice fish in the boat within a couple of hours. Saturday 4 more nice sized bows
Had to quit a little early so we could get back in time for the Cougar game. Perch fly tipped with worm seemed to work the best. About a 50/50 ratio between downrigger and flatline with a little weight. Also tried Hewesfisher's advice and fished 2 poles "naked", which accounted for probably 1/2 the fish. Tried trolling fast (per hewesfisher), but for whatever reason, slow seemed to work better today. Hopefully in get in another report tomorrow w/ pics.

Thanks for the good report. Best one I seen in awhile. Keep after them, it's the right thing to do.

I started one dodger with a fly and one naked fly, soon switched over to no dodger, worked better for me.
3 or 4 colors between 1.5 and 1.8 mph, half a worm and a pink Berkeley maggot.

Nice report! If you read my reports, I'm a no dodger guy, Kekeda fly tipped with worm, almost never below 1.8mph and a trollimng pattern like a drunken sailor. :-)

Very true hewesfisher, get the same thing salmon fishing too. Can be a little frustrating, but sure kicks up the heartbeat!! I usually run 2 long lines and 2 DR's, but gonna experiment 1 rod with leaded line next weekend. Maybe it'll work so well I can post as many successful posts as you??

I've been using leadcore so long I've forgotten when I started. With a 50' fluorocarbon leader and snap lock swivel to attach the fly, it has been an incredibly successful setup 150' behind the boat. The past few years I've stopped long lining plugs as they just haven't produced much, they are, however, rigged and ready to deploy if needed. If I had to choose between leadcore, long lining mono, or downriggers, it would be leadcore hands down.

My downriggers spend more time on the storage shelf than on our boat. ;-)
