Mike and I went up the Arm and caught a bunch of walleyes. It was an early morning bite and motor oil red flake grubs were the ticket. We had one limit in the live well by 0730. Then what Mike described as an Eeyore cloud rained down despair on us for 4 hours. We caught over 50 eyes, a dozen smallies and an 18 inch slimer. We released 10 spawned out hens between 23 and 25 inches. We also released 6 or more that still had yet to spawn. Most of the males we kept were spawned out. We also released a bunch of 12 to 15 inch dinks. I cleaned 24 quality eaters.

Well my thumbs up turned into question marks. Anyway, nice day.

A miserably rainy day is easier to endure when you are still catching fish. Although it slowed way down once the rain really started coming down.

It is sort of amazing what we can put up with if the fish are biting. Sounds like a day that will always be remembered.

Any day I can spend enjoying time on the water is worth it. Catching some tasty eyes is just icing on the cake.
