I got my son Bo to take me fishing for perch on Friday the 14th. We got to the lake around 9am and left sometime between 12 and 1. Water temperature was 65 degrees. Air temp was 50 and rising with a blue sky and much sun.
The plan was to motor out until we liked what was on the fish finder. Well, that was shortly after launching. We stayed in that area almost all the time on the lake. The depth we were at was 29-42 feet. We used a drop shot method with 2 hooks that had nightcrawlers pieces on them. I only caught perch but Bo caught bluegill, rock bass, and perch. He caught 4 perch before I caught my first.
I tried to film underwater. I didn’t know if it would work having a camera and weight on the line by mine hook, line, and sinker. When we were done, I brought it up, opening it up to turn it off and water came out. Well, that wasn’t good. When I was home, I dried out the SD card and stuck the camera in rice. After cleaning the fish, I plugged the card in to see if it worked…I had 30 minutes of footage!
We brought 23 perch home for me to clean.

Toni, Great report! Thanks. I've always liked yours. Very informative. Glad you were able to salvage your SD card! But how was the camera after the rice treatment?
