Took Glenn out to the Arm. Not going into a lot of details but we spanked the eyes pretty good today. We caught about 50 and cleaned 30. We could have easily cleaned 32 but we let some real stud eyes go. We actually spent the last hour trying to catch some smaller eyes so we could cull a few of the 21.5 inch eyes we already had. A 16 inch eye looks really small compared to the ones we were releasing. They were all caught on jigs in current. We released 12 oversized eyes with Glenn releasing a 6 lb eye and I released a 13 lb eye. Our best luck was with 3/8 oz jigs. The eyes really responded best to a jig going down stream at the same speed as the river current.

Part-time, I let it go to hopefully produce more baitfish. We may not be catching as many as in years past, but they are definitely fatter.

Mark, was wondering if you launched at Porcupine and if so what are the conditions. Looks like I might get out tomorrow after a huge delay.

Part-time the launch is down to one lane but otherwise fine for launching. If you do go and the visibility is good use natural colors, think perch. I used the same swimbait almost all day because it was working. Glenn and I started out with 7 rods between us and all had something different on them. Glenn started to pick up eyes on one specific swimbait and when I changed to that it was game on. The eyes really wanted our jigs to be going the same speed as the current. Good luck my friend.

Seven rods between you. I only have one. Maybe I should try harder.

I usually bring 6. Glenn has about 10 in his boat. Saves lots of time, I don't have to constantly re-tie.

Pretty sure I'm not trying hard enough. Couldn't find the fish yesterday hardly at all. Two small eyes and a Burbot.
