Launched out of 7 Bays with LT. Based on the water level I thought Porcupine Bay launch would be closed but at least half a dozen boats Launched out of there. Anyway we headed up the Arm. The current flow was much higher than it has been recently. The water is also up two feet from last weekend. The water is stained and visibility is about 1.5 ft. We jigged all day and had to move around frequently. The eyes were not very aggressive and when they did bite, they mostly just picked our jigs up off the bottom. No one color or jig head combination worked best. We must have tried at least 12 different styles and colors of swimbaits, senkos and 4 inch worms. We ended up catching about 30 eyes and 8 smallies. We released 4 dinks and over 10 oversized hens between 21 and 25 inches. The largest was 5.5lbs. The smallies were between 2.5lbs and 4lbs. I cleaned 13 nice eaters. We also saw the same two moose lounging around on shore that I saw last weekend.

The weather was gorgeous and fish were caught. Doesn't get much better than that.

Sounds like another good trip. Good to know Porcupine is up and running. I saw two young moose goofing around on the bank when I was up there last. Never saw Mama moose.

Looks like your day turned out decent. We were in the little Wooldridge that came and talked to you. We decided to bottom bounce at the head of the narrows after we saw you caught quite a few dinks. Still struggling to figure out the jig presentation.

NW, we worked our butts off. Those fish were not in a biting mood. I was catching some of them under the chin, that tells me they were just trying to pin my jig to the bottom versus actively trying to eat it. I had to switch to a 1/2 oz jig because of the heavy current. The key is to allow the current to sweep your jig downstream while you work it back to the boat. I try to just barely keep my jig off the bottom and in the strike zone. In that stained water they are not coming up very far to get a jig. I missed a lot of fish, they shook my jig because they really didn't want to bite. Most of the fish we caught were just weight not active bites.
