Re: ScuttleButt fishing contest - covid safe???

Speaking to the original thread.. When we interact with people around us, who maybe we interact with all the time, and they seem like ‘Practically family’... Realize that we really don’t know who everyone’s contact points are. I’m a nice guy to have in your boat. Got my own tackle, usually cover the...

Re: Those castable crab snares....

OK, 8 hours later... picked up another castable crab snare, this time bought ZIP TIES.
Heading out in AM. Also, first razor clam dig of 2020 is 0600 tomorrow AM.
Should be a good time if I don’t lose another crab snare.

Those castable crab snares....

Who out there has experience with those crab snares that you cast from shore? I’m taking about the ones that are size of a Rubix cube, and have multiple plastics snares to entangle the crab’s legs. I’m out here @ Roosevelt beach, WA. Coast. Participating in an online Surf Perch derby. Thought I’d pi...

Re: Wanted: 55+ gal aquarium

Thanks Phil, I appreciate your reply. Unfortunately things went South with the Craws in the livewell. I was bringing them water from my local lake, and going through a race to find an aquarium, but I didn’t quite make it. I did enjoy my crawfishing experience on Roosevelt though. Still got to write ...

Re: Anybody familiar w/fishing Kettle Falls/Roosevelt?

Hewesbob, Thank you SO much for timely, spot on information. I’m just so excited to see this area. I am pretty well versed in most of the state, and I’ve watched so many Roosevelt reports fly by. Bummer to hear you say it was super slow, as well as fish checker confirms same thing. Walleye are new t...

Anybody familiar w/fishing Kettle Falls/Roosevelt?

OK, so I am building a little trip over to Roosevelt next month. I can find plenty of Intel/reports on the lower areas of Roosevelt, but my best lodging option is in Kettle Falls. It looks a little to me like that upper river area is more my kind of thing.. LOW jet ski/water ski count, and just very...

Looking for insight into all things ‘Lake Roosevelt’

Lake Roosevelt might be the last WA. state fishing bucket list place for me. I am thinking about taking my 1st trip over there 2nd or 3rd weekend in August. Can someone tell me a few things regarding which launch is a good launch, etc. but also the reservoir is so huge, that I probably need to know ...

Re: Heading to Indian creek

If you are talking about Rimrock lake, then just go to the Lake Reports section and choose Rimrock lake. You can read reports from previous years within the same general time of year, to help dial you in. Your thread title said “Indian Creek”. So that may throw people off a bit.

Re: Bass food options in Westside urban lakes

Thanks for your reply Fred. I realize that they are opportunistic, and of course anything bug that lands on the surface, etc. but these inner Seattle city lakes are amazingly sterile environments in regards to ANYTHING landing on the water. I totally am with you on the C/R, 100%. It might though be ...

Re: Bass food options in Westside urban lakes

I hear what you’re saying, but as far Bobber/night crawler the lake, the only species outside of LMB, is stocker trout, and yeah of course a good size bass could take down a (small) stocker rainbow, it just seems like it wouldn’t be the main dinner course. Thanks for replying.

Grip style scale recommendations?

I need to up my game to a grip style bass scale. What do you have that you can recommend?
I just want to be assured both accuracy and safety to the fish not falling from the grip. [thumbup]

Bass food options in Westside urban lakes

To clarify what I am asking about, I am referring to the food/prey choices for LMB in your typical small urban Seattle lake. So I am no stranger to fishing LMB, but each year as I pound these small urban lakes, 10-20 acres, I ask myself, “What do these fish have to eat in here?” You will only relate...

Re: Gotta love idiots who post pictures of their crime on social media

Late to the party here, but man... you should look at the Fishbrain App. That is a serious collection of people posting pics and bragging about laws broken. (It’s April 28 today.. I’m about to roll around in my bass soft plastics (Senkos). Man, I am just beside myself, waiting for the 5th, to hit a ...

Re: Use trolling flies for rainbow?

BradF: You mention trolling flies with lead line. What is the advantage of using lead line versus ordinary line plus sinkers? I had heard that lead line is not very suitable for trolling shallow, like close to the surface. Is that correct? Don’t think of leaded line as fishing super deep. It’s just...
