This was my second trip to the lake this week and things definitely could be better. Most of the fish caught the past 2 outings have been small trout (6-9 inches) and they have been everywhere. There are a few nice fish being taken, however fishing for 9 hours each day for 1 or 2 NICE fish ........ well the scenery was nice.
After Tuesday's rains, the lake's water temp went to 67 degrees however the algae has been breaking up and there are clumps scattered just about everywhere.
INTERESTING NOTE-
This month I have caught trout out of this lake that I have not seen before. This lake is planted with rainbows and browns but this past month I have caught 3 fish thusfar that resemble a rainbow trout however the fish dosen't have the rainbow stripe nor are there any spots on the fish EXCEPT for the tail. Thinking it might be a cutthroat I checked to see if it had the typical cutthroat slash on the lower slides of the jaw and there was NO slashes. I have caught one tiger in this lake a few years back and I am wondering if this is some new type of trout??????
