went fishing yet again at round lake, but this time i went all day instead of the usual 4pm-7pm which was a good idea because these fish bite all day long! i was fishing the same old spots and i am still pulling out 5-10 crappie each day. i am also catching numerous bluegill and perch on the same set-up i am using for crappie, though i cant seem to catch any perch over 5 inches! every one i have caught has been 4 inches or less which is weird because my jig is and inch long. i am also very surprised at the huge populations of perch and bluegill in the pond connected to round lake by the fish wheel, if you stand by the bridge you can see hundreds of small perch and bluegill swimming around. while i was fishing for bluegill by the floating logs in front of the fish wheel i spotted a huge i mean HUGE trout swimming back and fourth under the logs, i first thought it was a bass but after a couple more spotting's i decided it was a monster rainbow trout. i through everything i had at it but i could not get it to bite, which wasn't a surprise. this lake does not have much fishing pressure besides the usual father-son or father-daughter combination which never catches many fish, usually all i ever see at this lake is people walking dogs or jogging

That may have been a brown trout max. There are some huge fish in Round Lake and its nice to not have to deal with the water skiers.
