Fished Diamond from 1:00-8:00 pm.
Weather was partly cloudy, water temp was 68 degrees.
Water was very clear, there were a lot of skiers and
wave runners on the lake. I trolled the entire lake using my
stand-by pink apex, depth trolled about 20 feet. Fish were holding
at 15 to 35 feet deep. I had little success. I noticed two fishing boats anchored
at the south end of the lake. So I anchored between them, each boat about 300ft
from each other. It was right were the weed line ended and broke to deeper water.
22 ft to be exact. I put on my favorite jig, a green inch and a half curly tail grub.( white is
also a very popular color for me.) I tipped it with a worm. First cast "BAM" a 22 inch rainbow.
This was the best fighting fish I've
ever caught, stripping drag like a tuna! I caught the rest of my limit really quick, the rest
of my trout were 12 and 14 inches, browns and bows mixed. My fishing buddy used just
hook, worm and yellow sweet corn and also caught his limit. We searched for some perch but
had no success. I know the perch are there, just couldn't find them. Good luck.

I should mention: When I fish with my jigs, I cast them out, let the jig sink and leave the line slack and watch for anyone
subtle twitch or movement on the line. When I see the line twitch I set the hook! 90% of the time I hook the fish in the jaw .
I was using this technique for Crappies' and found out it works even better on Trout. Crappie007.
