My buddy and I borrowed a friends boat and rowed out of the 'slough' into open water. Once anchored, I used a simple white rooster tail and on my third cast I hooked a 14 inch 1.5 lb Small mouth Bass. I was quite surprised to catch Bass (or anything for that matter) and that quick no less! Fished Northwest side of the lake for about 2 hours. Will most defiantly be back, possibly tomorrow.

Hmmmmm - 14.5 inches. That is in the slot restriction - Hopefully he was released. And, talk to your photographer about including your head in the photos

yea that is defiantly a large mouth u can tell by how far its jaw comes back, past the eye is a large mouth and in front or parallel to the eye is a small mouth. or u can tell by the colors and stripes largemouths seem to always have a "broken" black line running across the side of there bodys and small mouths have multiple colors on them including brown and green depending on the time of year

Speaking of, can anyone tell me where I can find the appropriate place to check fish sizing? I have been catching and releasing here and there, but I also stop and take a few occasionally. I have no idea what sizes are keepers, and which are not. Thanks.
