Well, I tried Round Lake and had no success at all. I got there about 7 am. It was pretty cool looking with a mist still on the lake. Perhaps I was in the wrong place on Round Lake. I parked just across the road from Lakamas Lake and walked east past the caretaker's home. followed the shore line south. I stopped along the way at a couple of places that had picnic tables (and lots of fishing tackle in the tree branches LOL) and trails down to the water. I was casting a spoon with no luck. I made my way down to a dam and fished both sides of the log barrier with a spoon and with a Kastmaster...no luck. I switched to a worm under a bobber...nothing. I tried a rubber grub on a jig...no luck. I fished for about two hours trying different things with no result. On the way back I tried tossing a spinner bait with a skirt into the pond on the west side of the trail...nada. I doubt if it is the lake because I hear others catch fish here. I would like to have your input on what I am doing wrong, what I could use for bait or anything that might make me a more successful fisherman.

i catch tons of fish at this lake(pictures in past reports) and i usually have great success using plastics for bass. there are little to no trout here except for way out in the middle so if u don't have a boat that can get under the bridge that also has a electric motor u should stick to battle ground or klinline. for crappie bluegill and perch u can use worms meal worms or jigs i have found that the perch will hit almost any jig in any size they really don't care. the crappie like smaller jigs like trout magnets or regular crappie jigs under a bobber, bluegill have always been and will always be the easiest fish to catch. use worms on a bobber about 2 feet long and fish around the fish net and around the weeds. good luck fishing in this lake and i hope i start having success
