Got on the water at about 6:45 and fished until 11:15. The water level was down a few inches from the previous week. The surface water temperature was around 63-65 F depending on the location. We started out at my spot that usually produces several 1 - 2 lb bass on a slow day.... nothing, except for the tail bitten off of a cut tail worm. Tried some weed lines, docks, and stumpy flats... nothing. Tried a few areas with deeper structure... nothing. I used just about everything in the tackle box but all I could trick were two small smallmouths. I'm not sure if it's the cold front, the changing season, or a combination of the two, but these fish weren't very interested in biting today. I saw Bill G and Deadeyemark out there chasing muskies. I hope we have a few more weeks left with good water levels in the lake.
