Black Lake is a year round lake and they put a lot of fish in the past year. It's hard to fish in the summer because of all the water traffic, but it's close to me so that's my home lake!

WDFW wants to know how much interest there is in these types of winter trout fishing opportunity. How many anglers are participating? Are fish being harvested. Last year the late stocking (first weekend in Nov) resulted in good participation and harvest. This is the second year for the late plant and we really need to know if there is interest. Please take the time to let us know.

11/3/2007 1:25:00 AMThats great having a winter trout hatchery plant, definately going to put more research into this lake. King county doesn't seem as winter-friently for trout fishermen. I'm going to check the forum post with the year-round trout lakes for this one in particular.

11/3/2007 11:02:00 AMmr wdfw, yes, any extra plants the state can do would be a good thing. lets spend the cash on fishery's that make sense, and people will harvest them. i would suggest spreading them out, though. so, more than 1-2 lakes get them.

I also am convinced that there is plenty of interest for the late season plants. I think that participation would be even greater if the late season plants are listed in the Weekender Reports or somehow highlighted on the WDFW website versus the standard need to scroll through the regular fish stocking reports. Just a thought.

Planting at this lake was great for me in a lot of ways. I really enjoy fishing year round and not many lakes in Olympia are. I was traveling to Mason County and others to fish trout year round. Now, I enjoy staying local and have a real interest in my home lakes habitat and development.
