Trolled the buoy line from sun up until about 1:00. We were trolling black woolly buggers about 35 yards behind the boat at 1.4MPH. Fish averaged between 4 and 5 pounds with some up to nine pounds. The fish around the buoy line have a lot more fight in them than the lethargic fish at the pens. Averaged about 6 - 7 fish/hr.

This was only my second trip. My first was two weeks ago. I've heard that the fishing is still outstanding in January, but I couldn't tell you from experience. Sorry.

How deep were you trolling if you don't mind me asking?

No weight. We just tied the flies directly to our line and let it stay on top. A lot of times the fish grabbed it before we even let all of the line out and we had to close the bail to set the hook.

Nobody caught any walleye that I was aware of.
