another long drive to Rufus woods today. Cloudy and 28 degrees when we got there at 8 am. Fished until about 10 am keeping four fish. The biggest we landed was 5 lbs. with the other three from 3 to 4 lbs. Lost three very big fish that broke off. Started snowing about 9:30 and snowed an inch by 10. All in all another great trip. Will have to ty more flys before we go back.

trout slayer, We launch at the launch just above the Chief Joseph dam. To get there go through Brewster then turn on 17 to Bridgeport. As soon you cross the bridge turn left on Pearl hill road and the launch is about 1 mile. I would not try to launch without a 4x4. The ramp gets very icy. There is usually barrel of sand there for traction. You might be able to get up the ramp with 2 wheel drive and chains but i don,t know. We fish along the debris barrier by the dam, trolling a 3 ought dodger and a large black wooly bugger fly with a piece of worm on it. We have never left sight of the launch and have always limited there within an hour or less. The fish seem to run from about 2 lbs to? We had some very big ones on but broke off. Got to get heavier leader. was using 8 lb test. Good luck and have fun.
