Went down to Rotary at about 1:00 pm to practice using my new fly rod (I've never fly-fished before in my life). After 45 mins of complete frustration (and hooking myself behind the ear once), I switched over to my spin casting gear because the 5 other anglers out on the lake were pulling 'em in left and right and limiting out. I used rainbow powerbait about 18" off the bottom, landed and released 2 14" triploids and then gave up because the snow and driving winds kicked in. Wanted to switch to spinning gear to fish the top because they were feeding on the top about the time I left, but realized that I had left my swivels at home in my tackle box, and not in my vest where they should have been. Oh well!! Fish on boys, fish on.
