4/18/2008 6:28:00 PMI just moved to Chattaroy. Had been in Shadle Park area, so I fished Long Lake A LOT LAST YEAR. Just (last spring) took up fishing. Good excuse to keep the dirt off of the duck boat all summer. So, now plan on fishing Eloika. Only 5 miles to the launch. I can handle that commute with these gas prices. Sooooo, looking for some advice or tips, guide as to where to go. I can take my 16' War Eagle through ANYTHING so the grass is no problem. Any advice?

4/19/2008 9:29:00 AMreddog, if you can fish the lake when the water is still above the weeds around the edge, roll soft plastics across the top. Should hook some nice largemouths. Fish On!

They are fun but i have not really got a handle how to fish them quite yet, but they are fun, but not fun like the bass. That is for sure.
Honkster man, the lake is this full every year ar this time? I flipped a lot the other day got one hit and landed on nice 2.14 oz. largemouth. That is all, i could not fish the shallows much do to the wind. When you say pull across the top, you mean like with a rippel behind and all or a few inches under? just a simple question, well one more, u must fish here often huh>? Leter .

4/19/2008 10:58:00 PMSorry, brain fart. Yeah, just slow roll a 8-10" powerwork across the top of the weeds. Right on the surface. You would be amazed at how thick of weeds some of those largemouths will sit in. Try the West side of the lake first. Fish On!
