have not fished this lake in many years. boat launch is as i remembered it thougth (very shallow). this lake is full of fish. constant readings all over the lake on sonar. was hoping for some germans but caught 4 rainbows. 3 planters and one nice 2lb carryover(possibly a trip). the big one put on an impressive show launching out of the water several times. all in all a good day. caught the big one on a triple teaser with about 1/8th ounce of weight. caught the rest on a small perch colored rapala that produced constant hits (and misses). lake is shallow so all trolling is near the surface. they also seemed to like a bit of pace to the troll. wind came up at about 10:30 so I called it a day.

You can still launch up there? I thought they closed it when the resort closed.

yeah some guy bought the resort and opened it back up again. Its 5 bucks to park, free boat launch, and 5 bucks to dock fish. He also rebuilt the dock. It looked like it was constructed poorly as boards were uneven and all that, but none the less much better than old dock. There are alot of fish in there though.

The lake is about 35 feet deep at the deepest point. It is a spring fed lake and has a very mucky bottom.

The Henleys sold the resort last fall and the new owners took possession mid September of 2007. We had a Memorial Fishing Derby on October 15th in rememberance of a young man who drowned on the lake on September 17th (just 3 days after we took over). We had a decent turn out and raffled off a 50" flat screen television as the Grand Prize. We also handed out trophies and ribbons as well as several other prizes, which included trolling motors, fishing poles, and gift certificates.

We had our "Grand Opening" on Friday, April 25th, for the opening day of fishing season and had LOTS of people come down! We had some great fish caught that day, including a 2 lb 12 oz German Brown and several good sized (1.5-2 lbs) Rainbow Trout. Since opening day, we've had people come in with a 7 lb German Brown that they caught off the dock as well as a nice 5 lb catfish.

October of 2007 we got 30,000 Rainbow Trout fry, which we fed over the winter and were released around Monday, April 21st. We also received about 300 1-1.5 lb Rainbows on Tuesday, April 22nd. We tried to get German Browns, but Fish & Wildlife wouldn't let us because they said that Silver Lake drains into the Nisqually River, which is native Bull Trout habitat. We're still trying though!

We had a great turn out for Memorial Weekend, so thanks to everyone who came out.

We hosted our first Seattle Outboard Association Mini-Hydroplane Races on June 14th and 15th, which brought in a lot of people as well.

We had a beautiful fireworks display on July 4th that went on for a couple of hours and the weather cooperated perfectly! We hope you all had a great time!

Coming up, we have the INT League Amateur Wakeboarding "Wake and Swerve Festival" on July 25-27th. Later this summer, we have the Malibu Pro Team Challenge, which is a Pro Wakeboarding event, on August 15-17 and the event will be televised on Fuel TV.

We just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who has given us a chance and come out to see what we have going on. We hope you enjoyed yourselves! Come out and visit us again soon!
