Went to Black Lake to do a little trout fishing and get the rust off my rod. Cold and windy with overcast skies with some sun breaks. I find these conditions work best for this lake. Used an egg sinker with a 3' leader and orange power bait. Fished from about 9:30 to noon. Only 2 bites I got .....I nailed. Nice fight for both fish with lots of jumping...Ahhhh I love trout fishing. Tight Lines!!!!!!! Matt

Yes I do fish by the store and also from a boat. The dock by the store can be very good, but can get crowded. There is another place you can fish called Columbus Park but you have to pay to fish there. I have used worms but I have had the best luck with orange and chartreuse power bait. In a boat I troll wedding rings and lures with flasher combos. Hope this helps.......Matt

hey thanx man- do they let you park at the grocery store? i have never used power bait, so i am clueless using those...do you use plain orange and plain chartreuse? or is it a mixed color? i have fished at the columbia park but never caught anything except small bluegills....

Yes they do let you park by the store, I used to ask but they always said it was OK. I use both plain colored power bait and the ones with the sparkle flake in it. The flake one seems to work better. Never fish at Columbus Park...maybe sometime if you want we can fish by the store. Let me know when you are going....Matt
