Bought a pontoon so I had to take it out for a try. Hit up Greenlake for a few hours. Tried fishing for bass along the lilly pads, no luck (but not sure what I am doing yet - so I chalk it up to that). So I went for the sure thing and trolled a wedding ring around awhile. Picked up 2 stockers about 10-12" before the crew boats chased me off. Oh, I also caught a nice sunburn - beautiful day!

Just curious, how long of a leader do you use and what type of weight when you troll? I usually run about 2-3 feet with a small slip sinker, have some luck but would like to know how others troll, thanks

Just depends on where I am at, water depth, how fast I am trolling, what I am trolling etc. In Greenlake I have been running a little 1/8 egg weight & bead on the main line, swivel, and 2-3ft leader before the wedding ring setup. Saw a couple guys catching fish while I was there out of a rubber raft trolling pop gear.

Thanks, will give it a shot, don't go out there much but when I do I'll look for you. The planters at Green Lake are a little a (a lot) bigger than the other planters around the area so it is a lot more enjoyable when you have one on.
