Wanted to got out and catch one of those cutts I so dearly hope one day to master... Well, I was limited, as I only had 2 hours on the water, but nevertheless still NO strikes at all..... Fished in rather shallow waters around 40-60, and marked some fish on the bottom. I trolled from Rainier Beach down to Cedar Outlet, and once I arrived at the mouth there was a lot more fish to mark, at all depth pretty much. Unfortunately this was also about the time I had to head home. I was nice weather and I am still very new to this lake and fishery, so not discouraged yet. Was trying out all new equipment, and will be dedicating a full day soon... Hopefully with a few more fish included in the report next time too(-:

Keep trying! If you ever get to the point where you can be a "MASTER" of fishing, I'd like to pay for your'e secrets. I went out Friday and fished that area., The two of us had 11 hits, 9 fish to the boat. we released 3 cutts, 3 chinooks, and kept 3 cutts. Must be the water is geting warmer as I have fished that area about 5 times and only got 3 fish for all that effort. Friday was good. Again, keep trying and you'll hit it good soon.

Yah, I'm hoping to get a good 5 hours in during this week..... did see a few other boats fishing that day, but all fishing in at least 100' of water.

I think sometimes its just goes that way. I went out one day last week & the action was hot! Went out a coule of days later - in the same place, doing the exact same thing - & the action was slow. Go figure. My guess is, that's just how it is sometimes. Keep going out & your bound to have a 'hot' day.

Cheers!

Is it best to stay in the 40-60 foot bottom areas, or should I put more time into trolling 520? Also, what time of day is most productive?
