Headed to Goodwin right after work. It was my first time fishing the lake. We launched from Wenberg park, and started fishing the cove immediately north of the park. The wind was too strong for our trolling motor, so we headed directly across the lake to the West side. The water was calm. Over two hours, I hooked into a 3.5, 3.25, and 3 pound smallie. I caught them in about 10-14' of visible water, right over rock beds. Approaching dusk, we trolled back to Wenberg, and landed 5 trout, mostly 11-12". One of them was about 15". We even managed one sunfish! All fish C&R'd. Good day on the lake, especially with the sun on us. Very few wake boarders out.

Great Trip. Can you tell us what you were using when you caught the trout trolling? Thanks for the info.

I caught my trout on a Dick Nite lure, and my friend was using a rooster tail. The bass were caught using Senkos.
