Arrived at Mineral lake around 900 am, wind was from the south, south west around 5-10 mph. Water temperature was around 72F. Overcast and looked as if it were going to rain...however, it did not...thankfully.

First time on this lake. Decided to just troll around and look at the depth finder and get an idea of the layout of the bottom. Not nearly as deep as I thought it was going to be. The bottom was fairly clean...minus the branches and submerged timber along the shore.

Fishing was tough...at least for me. Trolled around brown, black and olive woolly buggers on an intermediate sinking line. Got a couple hits on the olive bugger...but not any of the others. Dropped my line as close to the bottom as I could with a homemade olive and black #10 bunny leech and bottom bounced it as I drifted with the wind. Hooked, landed, and released three rainbows. Nothing of any real size...all three were right around 12" or so. I am guessing the hot weather & higher water temps has spoiled their appetites. At least I didn't get skunked. Left around 330pm.
