Started out at 6am til 11am from the DNR. Caught 5 LMB at plus 20" within the first 2 hours. Used power bait worms and let them sink to the bottom. Tossed them under the floating logs and junk. Lost a big one because we got tied up in the logs and sticks floating, (but hey that's were we found them hanging out). Caught about 8 SMB in about the 10" to 15" range.

Nice fish man. Dnr past tum tum right? Where abouts from the launch are you finding cover? I think there may be cover across the other side of the lake but not too sure the cover you are talking about. I can never find the fish in that area. I have found a few smallies and a few bucket mouths in my adventure there but not any good days at all. If you could shoot a few tips my way i would relly appreciate it. Nice fish by the way. expecially this late in the year.

Yes, past Tum Tum.
Go to the left,(looking out from the launch) fish the cove area. It has pads and the logs down in the water and floating on top. Lots of SMB along the side on your way to the cove. We get right inside all the junk floating or in the middle of the weeds and just drop the worms or shads down deep in the pockets. or pitch them so they drop under the stuff floating. (You will pull up lots of weeds and stuff between the fish caught, just hang with it.) We caught most of our fish in 6' of water or less. My son had on a monster, I guess 8lb plus, But he only had 12lb line on. So he could not get him out of the weeds when he got wrapped up and lost him. He put 20lb line on we he got home. :-)
If you see us out thier, stop us and we would be happy to show you what we are doing to catch them.
See you on the lake. and good luck
(We had posting under Pike Master also, but my son said we should change the name cause we are not fishing Pike).

You are talking right past the point right? I think i know where abouts you are talking about. I know fiching weeds is tough but very productive. I saw you out on the lake a few weeks back you two with your daughter in here bathing suit. I took your advice and tried in the middle of the day and got a horable sun burn and not many fish. U must not have done good either because you never posted anything about that outing. What are you using this time of the year?

Yea, that day was HOT a while back, But the wind is what did us in that day. We are trying to get out earlier and off by 1 pm.
We are pretty much just dropping worms down and working them slow, across the top if we see action their with spinner baits or a quick retrive with the worm to keep it on top. You have the right area. We work both sides pretty hard off that point.
Good Luck.
See ya on the lake.
