First time fishing the Potholes. Pulled up to the east-end Public Access around 8 am and was surprised to see so many fish jumping.
I started from the bank with a worm/wedding-ring combo and worm/bobber combo. Nothing pulled in, but did get a few strikes on both.
Decided to float out about 50 ft. and cast from a small raft. Bass were interested in anything that had a worm... I had the best luck slowly bottom-dragging a plain old hook & worm.
No luck with a baitless spinner.
Found out the jumpers were Carp... great fun to watch, but did snap my 6 lb test line once.
Left around noon, very happy, but with no keepers.
