My buddy Corey and I went out in my little runabout (1958 Reinell Jetabout with a 1955 Merc Mark 25) on Sunday. It was cold and cloudy when we first got there, and while it stayed pretty cold it did get sunny and beautiful later on. We started by Gasworks Park but as soon as we started fishing the wind came up. Since I have no decent maneuverability with my rig and since you cannot drop an anchor in Lake Union, we had to move to a less windy spot. We moved in the shadow of one of the large condos on the east side of the lake. We did get some bites while drop shotting at the base of some large pilings there but no fish. We had plastic brown goby's on our lines in the traditional drop shot layout. We also tried crank baits in various color patterns with no luck.

We moved around the lake and ended up at the base of the Montlake Bridge; nothing. It sure looked like there should have been fish there. We were going to try the cut where many of you have fished and caught, but you cannot fish from a boat in the cut (west of the Freemont Bridge).

A little help would be appreciated, where are you guys catching fish from a boat? I will have an electric troller by the next time I get out so I will be able to find a good spot and hold on it.

Bass fishing has been tough on Lake Washington recently, try deeper this time of year, 30 to 40 feet.
