As usual, I was in the other boat and they where tight lipped...just kidding. Had a great time and we caught fish. Looking forward to returning. Thanks again. Danny

1/12/2009 8:55:00 AMHey Everyone, When you use the jig set-up, be sure to pinch the barbs down.
Just rigging these for the post, I didn't do so, but when fishing it is best to pinch them down.

We used the squid plastics you gave us and they worked awsome. pulled in a 6 pounder on Friday afternoon and with your squid, snagged a 7pounder. Was surprised that the 7 pounder was real lean on the bottem side. Can't wait to cook that baby.
Again thanks for the help and hope to see you again out there. If anyone sees blufin out on the water, ask him what is working, or ask his wife, she was just nailing 'em out there Saturday!! :)

Sounds like it was an acceptable trip for your gang. Glad to be of assistance. I was able to get some pretty good pics of a cool looking boat, with fish being caught that day. Shoot me an email so I'd have an addie to send them to, and I'll Send them your way.
I like to take my wife fishing because she makes the boat look good. She enjoyed the banter, you guys were awesome.
Also, would like to see a post detailing your trip, including you impression of the place you guys put up for the week-end if you would. It Would make an interesting read for the members.

1/12/2009 11:26:00 AMblufin hope to fish both wensday and thrusday. wasgoing to try and launch from just below the lower pen if we can get into that area. other wise will be at the upper pens. have not been able to find that small B2 jig yet.
have done good with the PW just threaded on the hook and drifting, also at the upper pens will back bounce it out in the middle of the river on that shallow reef/table top area.

1/12/2009 1:07:00 PMhavnfun, have ya ever picked up any walleye off the shallow reef/table top area. We have "Randomly" picked up wallys fishing for the tripps, but when we target them in RW we don't do well.
If ya don't have any, pick up some black marabou jigs in the 1/16 or 1/8 oz weight. These have picked up a lot of tripps, and are easy to fish. Slow and easy seems to do the trick right now, with a little twitch once in a while to liven it up a bit. Line weight seems to be important also. Go with a lighter line if your comfortable doing so.
What boat ya floatin, I'll keep an eye out

We are all real fortunate that we can get together on the water and off the water on the WL.com to share tips and stories. We've tried the chartreuse, triple glow green, fluorescence orange, clear/ blue flake, root beer, and motor oil. so far the rootbeer, and motor have been the most consistant. Ran out of these and waiting on more.

1/16/2009 8:58:00 PMJust a little reminder, we'd like to keep the report forms for actual fishing reports. Posts like this are better off in either the forum or as a comment under a previous report. The reason for this is the report statistics we are generating get skewed from non-reports that get posted into the reports. Not that we don't appreciate the info blufin loui! Thanks for understanding, Mike
