Well it has been a wild ride the last few weeks with the snow and flooding on the westside but I am glad to say that I managed to get to Rufus on Saturday..

The fishing was great but the catching was fairly slow..Found thru trial and error what worked best for me was flipping roostertail spinners (black) and copper colored spoons in 1/4 oz..

Fished all my hotspots and found that the fish were real lethargic and I am suspecting it is because water temp on Rufus has dropped below that 40 degree mark..In the past I have always done my best when water temp is above that 40 mark when fishing with artificial baits...

Now on a good note I suspect that the larger fish will be turning on for all those that bank fish with bait. Good luck to all that plan a trip over and if interested in a guided trip or info on Rufus feel free to call me..

Hey Joe.
A snowy day on RW catching fish is hard to beat.
I agree, the larger fish should be showing up in the limits soon, so keep on fishing and stay safe.

The snow and the cold, boy I want summer already Loui...Have you had a chance to go out on Lake Chelan and try for the Chinook...I was out playing and hooked 2 Kings and lost both fish on the jump on Sunday ...I was fishing the new and improved Superbait in a brand new color..They will be out on the market this year sometime..Now for your interest the chinook that the department plant in Lake Chelan are triploids also..So in the future I think that we will be banging some real nice fish here in our backyard..

I've never fished for or caught the Chinook, but will have to hook up with you some day for some professional instruction. Even back when they were in greater numbers (derby days), we never fished them.
I have yet to use the superbait (although they look great), but a new and improved model must be phenomenal. Have you used the new bait enough to have an opinion of it for a Mac bait?

Superbait is a hard plastic fake style Baite the spins like a cut-plug herring...Works real well for our Summer Chinook and Lake Chelan Chinook here in N. Central Washington.Comes in a variety of colors..I like the glow in the darks the best..

Here's some info on the super bait.
The Brad's Super Bait is a rotating - bait holding lure that resembles a wounded bait fish! It can be used trolling, back bouncing and casting! You can use the included scent pad and a filet or chop up your favorite bait. Open the cavity, insert your bait and scent pad, put back on the rubber band and it is ready to fish. Be careful not to overfill the cavity and force the bait to close, this could break the hinge! To replace the leader feed it through the hook tunnel then through the bottom hole through to the head opening. There are two holes at the head which control the variable rotating actions.
