Hit eloika because I thought it would be more productive than Bead, hoping for a triple digit score on perch to replenish the freezer. Started fishing about 7:30 AM and fished till noon with a buddy. We ended up taking home 5 perch over 6" and threw back about a dozen little guys, nobody else seemed to be doing very well either. Used a little glow frosty jig with perch eyes and fished about 100 yards from the public launch and worked our way north parallel to the shore. The ice was close to 18" thick and noisy, cracking and popping all morning, after hearing about that incident on Lake Erie I was a little jumpy.

how do you cook your perch? Someone told me that when you clean them to becareful not to cut the stomach cause they have worms? Is this true?

I have never heard that, I have been eating perch fillets for years with no ill effects, and I am sure I have cut open the stomachs of many of them in the cleaning process. I just fillet them out and either fry them with some breading or batter or we have them in fish tacos. They are quite delicious.
