Curiosity attracted me to check this little pond out--In one word "forgedboudit". To get to it one must climb a 6' fence or trespass on private property. No place to park. 5 casts of a spoon across w/o any signs. Lots of silt.

Now you have got me interested! It seems there is quite a bit of interesting history with this location. Notwithstanding the fishing prospects at this lake, I will be checking out the wildlife and riparian zones as well as the 4 miles of hiking trails. For those interested...directions:
From Interstate 5, exit at Northeast 145th Street and head west to Greenwood Avenue North. Turn right -- but not immediate right -- onto Greenwood and continue past 160th Street, then take an immediate jog left and follow the signs for Shoreline Community College. The street becomes Innis Arden Way. Pass college campus and in 1/2-mile, turn right into the well-signed Shoreview Park and parking area. Amenities include restrooms, tennis and soccer courts, playground and restrooms.

This lake is easier to access from the dog park entrance at the top of the trail on NW 175th St. just west of 3rd NW. Go in the gate and follow the trail south and west to the lake. It is only a half mile to the lake.
Last year there was a huge rainstorm and it decimated the watershed, trails and the lake. The lake literally shrank in half, filling with sand. I haven't been down there for 6 months or so but it used to be a good enough fishing hole that the City of Shoreline put up a sign that said Salmon Catch and Release only. I imagine the fish are going to be few and far between until the lake clears out a bit. The City may decide to rehabilitate the lake but in today's economic scene, it might be a while.
