Hit Kitsap in the morning for some early bass but no luck so switched to trout fishing. Not bringing my trout gear I had two improvise with what I had and found a really good combo for trout. If you use powerbait, eggs, or worms also include a contrasting color marshmallow on it. I had Yellow powerbait with one or two marshmallows and caught two trout right away then switched to the color with the best results which was purple powerbait (nymph scent) with one or two orange marshmallows which caught three trout caught biggest being 16 inches. The water temp was around 46-48 degrees depending where you are in the lake.

Thats cool that you caught some fish. Where do you have your best luck at Kitsap lake? I have heard it is good over by the military park area?I feel your pain on the Bass, I have been out trying to hit my first bass for the year as well with no luck yet. I have resorted to fishing for trout and have caught quite a few in the last month. I fish Long lake and the water temperature is hitting 45-48 degrees. Those nice sunny days are coming soon I hope. I have resorted to my sons Wii Bass fishing game until then.Good Luck!!!!
