Went to Green Lake again. Let's just say the fish are hungry. The planters were hitting anything we used: Rooster Tails, Spinners, Power Bait, Power Eggs, fake blood worms. Between two of us we caught probably 20-25 fish, threw them all back. The unfortunate thing was that they were schooling only about 3-15 feet from shore and 5-25 feet from the dock, once the hook was set they were almost to the dock. We fished the smaller dock by the boat house, air temp was around 45. They had a bunch of ropes and buoys out, they must be having races sometime soon, watch out for them because I lost two lures.

They planted 5 fish per lb size in Green lake, a 10 incher would be one of the big ones. I would rather have half as many fish planted that were twice the size with only a two fish limit. Anyone else agree? Nothing wrong with taking a couple of fish home for dinner. I don't need a whole freezer full.

Smashmouth says " They planted 5 fish per lb size in Green lake, a 10 incher would be one of the big ones."

I'm not sure I follow what you mean? It sounds as though you are saying that they planted 5 single fish of each pound.... 5, 1 lb'ers
5 2 lb'ers,,, 5 3 lb'ers etc.
Can you re-phrase what you mean?

I think what he means is that of the fish they planted, it takes 5 of them to make one pound, so a 10 incher would be on the upper end of size for being 1/5th of a pound.

They usually stock Green a few times a year. I expect, if not on tomorrows report, in the next couple weeks they will put some Trips in there. They usually run 1-2lbs.

Yes, 5 fish per lb is correct. Green lake is scheduled to recieve 750 Triploids in April and May. They are going to put 20,000 of the smaller ones in so they won't get fished out too quick and they'll have some time to grow.

State Fish and Game planted 10,000 trout in Greenlake over the last couple of weeks. These fish are between 1/3 and 1/4 pound each. Have a great Day! Great fishing for kids of all ages! At 45, I'm most certainly still a kid! Just ask my ex-wife! LOL Anyone happen to know exactly where they dump the fish in at Greenlake?

They put the fish in at the the boat house, south end of the lake.
