3/27/2009 11:55:00 PMYes, this lake was recently stocked the problem at this lake is if you can get them before then damn coomorant birds get them since the fish they stocked are quite small.

3/27/2009 11:58:00 PMThis happens to some of the smaller lakes that get stocked. Either right now it is too cold or those commorants are having a field day. Depending how many of them show up, they can eat right through them all.

3/28/2009 8:21:00 AMThere's my answer. I feel dumb admitting it, but I didn't know all those birds were cormorants. I thought they were a larger bird. But that is exactly what is happening. Is there anyway to target the few that the birds don't get?

3/28/2009 10:18:00 PMThe only thing I can think of is luck and timing. Depending on how deep a part of the lake is you may be able to get deeper than they can dive down and get the ones laying on the bottom. I'm not sure how deep it is though. I usually use different colors of power eggs depending on what the fish may be biting that day plus they last longer and float and I also put a piece of nightcrawler on the hook with the eggs on top of the hook and pump a little air into the worm so it floats and doesn't weigh down the eggs.

4/6/2009 4:48:00 PMI took the fast train to skunksville at that lake yesterday. I think the plant has already been digested by the birds. I hear they might plant again in May so hopefully that one will go better.
