Went out to Ballinger today to try my luck and also try out my new pontoon boat. No luck at all. Tired both the northern bank, as well as all around the island. I fished around the structure and downed trees but again no action. Did see one fish rise about 100 yards off the south west side of the island.

I havent fished Ballinger often so I am not really sure where to fish it other than the map given on the lake information page. Some tips on where and what to use would be helpful. Thanks

As far as I know you could be on the right place and catch nothing. A friend of mine went to Ballinger Thursday with his boat. He knows the lake well, and caught nothing... not a byte. It might be that the water is too cold because of the weird winter we had.

I have fished this lake a lot, I grew up near there. Over the many years it has always been a very slow lake for me. The positive experience I've had was I think on warm night in about June when the days are longer. I fished from my boat along the lilly pad fields at the North end. We caught a lot of planter trout, but at least it was fish.
