I got the morning off so I could go fishing minus the opening day bedlam. I choose to go to Clear Lake. I got in the water about 7:30am and left around 12:30. The last half hour was waiting to get the boat out of the water.
It was overcast and very chilly but not freezing. There were about 6 vehicles at the launch when I got there. Twice that many when I left. My fish finder wasn’t seeing hardly any fish. When I got to the east end there was a guy catching fish trolling a fly. I got out the wooly bugger that I tied. I caught 5 fish. All released. I caught 3 more after that which I kept. I caught 2 on a different fly but I don’t know what it is called. All fish that were caught were stocker sie.

Lesson learned: One doesn’t catch fish one sees on the fish finder.

Yes, I am! I don't have a med. heavy rod. I have been looking at the different forums classified for one even before you mentioned it. None showing up that I can afford. Mine are to soft for the salt even though I used them last year. What test line?
