It was very windy, alternating from a warm breeze to a frigid breeze. Patches of ice were still leaving the lake, and many fish were rising around them. This was my first trip for trout at all this year, and my first cast landed a nice fat 13 inch fish. Only fished a couple more hours, and only had even one hit, which landed another fat and feisty 13 inch fish. Both were caught in the shallow areas of the cove, and both took big bead head flies right off the bottom.
