Went to Goodwin Sunday afternoon to try for some smallies. Started out fishing the shoreline on the Northeast side was thowing jerk and crankbaits. No luck with those so I thought I would try for trout for a while since I was marking a lot on the finder. Trolled around the same area and got bit using a wedding ring but lost it right next to the boat just as I was getting the net. It was decent size probably around 14"-15". Missed two other hits while trolling. Wanted to try for Bass again so I got out a crawdad pattern crankbait and hit the shoreline on the way back to the launch. Caught one small Largemouth and a Smallie that weighed about 1-1/2 lbs. No pics.
A decent day for about 4 hours of fishing.
The wind was pretty steady out of the west and with the constant jet skis and water ski boats flying right next to you the water was pretty rough at times. I guess it is that time of year!

Yeah, Trimcat, if you leave the launch and head to the second cove on the right, just follow the shoreline till you see beds like everyone else, just remember smallmouth are goooood eatin'!!! Keep a couple for dinner and put them out of their misery....IF they have mouths left?? I plan on heading out there this coming weekend and getting some DINNER!!
