I had been on Martha lake, (Alderwood Manor) for about 3 hours with only some bites to speak of.... So, on the way home I stopped into Bitter lake for a quick once around in the tube.
It was windy, overcast, and only one person trout fishing from shore.

On about my 3rd cast I caught a 12" LMB. Not the biggest LMB for sure, but this lake is loaded with rock bass, and the LMB are much fewer and far between. So for the short time on the water I had to call it a 3 star visit. I was fishing some kind of 3" soft plastic. Skinny like a roboworm, but had a split tail. Unfortuneatly I am color blind, LOL It was the color of amber/pitch?
The fishing is best along the entire shoreline opposite the public access.

Hey Quad, I'm glad I'm not the only color blind guy on here! When anglers start talking about chartreuse, pumpkin, or try to show me the slight hint of blue in there trailer I just nod and agree. I think it creates a definate disadvantage when the bite is slow and a subtle difference in the bait color (like if you are trying to match the baitfish or crawdad) can make a big difference getting some in the boat. Good job on the LMB.
Oh by the way, in case you haven't heard it lately, "what color is this and what color is that"?

Quadfather - you commented on my post yesterday re:Martha Lake. Yes, we did cross paths. You had mentioned this site so thought I would check it out. Sorry Martha didn't produce for you. Too bad this site does not have a direct link to comments thus the reason for leaving a message here otherwise you wouldn't know I was replying?

if they had a boat lunch i would fish bitter all the time. its only 10 mins from my place. i caught a 6lb+ out there 2 yrs ago...and ive seen alot of big bass in there...
