Private, clean, quiet, plenty of parking,etc....

Fished Morton from shore and its always enjoyable.... even with no bites.. Amazing to see the bald eagle's steal fish in the morning :) So far most of the trout seem to be 8"-12"

Mor/Eve anything I threw in there has hooked trout.... PowerBait, PowerEggs, worms, etc...

Gets a bit crowded in the Mor/Eve, about 10-12 people on shore, plus boats coming in/out.

Small hooks and 2-4 lb ultraflourescent make a big difference because the water is so clear here. Many times the people with ultralite gear are the only ones catching anything.

At first I preferred either the left or right side of the shore but, I seem to catch fish anywhere as long as the line is cast far/deep enough out.

Beetween 11am-3pm in the afternoons it gets tough! Sometimes boats come back with nothing and usually most people leave... None of the typical baits have worked around that time. Sweet corn seems to be the only thing fish will take interest in mid day....

The farm trout seem to be adapting and learning to stay away from typical baits. Farther into the season when there is less "farm" fish, many of the bigger wild trout or last year survivors, stay away from everyday power baits, etc. - Maybe someone else can confirm or comment on theory....

Overall excellent small trout lake and always fun!

Morton is a cool lake the public fishing leaves much to be desired. It would be nice if a dock was built that would allow more public fishers and allow boats to come and go without disturbing. It's difficult to get a boat in and out of that launch without disturbing lines if it he shoreline is hopping (and lately it has been!)

glad you had a good time though, it really is a beautiful lake!
