This was my first look at this lake for the year. I forgot my thermometer so we could not get a water temp. However, we arrived as a family of swimmers was packing up so I would say the lake has warmed up nicely. Two of us fished for three hours without a nibble. We fished bottom to top with green label red and red glitter power bait. There appeared to be some top feeding, but nothing near the boat ramp area. There were some boaters trolling chain gear and a group of them fly fishing the west end. Three boats on the lake and I saw one fish in the net. A bad sign was the family of eagles who appeared to have made the lake their home. I’ll try a worm next week at daylight and maybe some different colors.
