Pretty good day fishing for Crappie on Harts today. Got there around 6 a.m. and the launch was already crowded despite a thick fog coming off the water. Started off with a white marabou jig tipped with a white Gulp Alive! maggot fishing the outside of the lilly pads on the south east end of the lake. Had a few bites but they were sporadic and had no hookps.

The the fog had finally lifted up enough to move around so I jetted up to the west end and switched baits on 'em. I tied on a 1/32 oz white tube tipped with a chartruese Gulp Alive! wax worm about 18" under a 3/4" red and white cheap plastic bobber and would bring it all in with a slow, jerky retrieve.
BINGO!!!
That cheap lil' bobber spent more time under water than above it.
At first they were right up in the lily pads but as the day progressed they'd moved out into the more open water, though the most effective depth was still about 18".

I made my way north and just slayed 'em with this set-up until the battery for my trolling motor started going dead.
I went home with about 15 average size Crappie and probably 10 times that number of smaller ones that I released.
