We went fishing in Renton at Lake Coulon near the boat launch. I think I have caught one fish before in my life- but I ended up catching a small perch, bluegill and a rock bass. My fiance caught a couple of perches and some small bluegill as well. We had quite a few bites when it got closer to 5:30 p.m.- Mostly used worms as our bait. We had a good time!

How are you bottom fishing without getting caught in weeds? Looks like your catching all kinds if fish there. Saw your other reports where you caught smb and a trout at Coulon. Good job

No these lil guys were catch & release! Just a fun day for the fiance to catch and hook some fish. I have told her she is bad luck over the yrs. But, the jinx is broken, lol

returnofthefish: use a drop shot rig and it works quite effective for not getting you caught to deep in the weeds. Use a tear drop weight..works great. You will catch some weeds, but it's only our weight pulling..

I have had no luck using a float. So fish are in shallow water but, in the weeds and not above. That's my guess to why no float/bobber success.

If you all want to catch some monster perch, go to the dock at the end of Hunts Point! A couple of years ago, my buddy and I went there and had two stringers full of perch that must have weighed around 15 pounds each!!! We used some small, redish brown, split tail plastics and had a ball!!!
