Caught a nice cut the other day here at noon so i decided to hit it up about 5:30 am today.
Was on my float tube and casting out 25-35 feet with a threaded crawler on a 2ft leader on snap swivel and a 1/4th oz torpedo sinker. Was wearing waders today so i wasnt paying attention to water temp. I just kicked slowly threw the most center parts where I believe it to be deepest and trying to keep my bait off the bottom. Hits came maybe 5 an hour i reeled in 5 to my tube all 14" or better and fat. I got 2 on the stringer 15" and 16&1/2" had one about them same in my hand but dropped it lol and the other two were reeled up until my sinker hit the tip of the pole but my net grabbing tecnique needs to be inproved lol
Since i stayed way off shore everything i felt was trout and didnt waste much bait.
Was a great 3 hours or so fishing and I think im hooked.
Im pretty new to tubing, with crappy fins, anyone have any pointers how troll in a tube? or any other hook and bait setups that might produce more bites?
Thanks in advance

AaronE might chime in on the fins. He has a pair that he flies with. I know he could troll with them. Good job on getting out in the tube

Sounds like your doing pretty good if your getting five hits an hour. You probably want bigger fins to move around faster.

The fins Jerry is talking about are the US Divers split fins. They're not big enough to wear with boots/waders, though, but if you're in trunks and fins like I usually am in the summer those fins will absolutely fly. I can almost catch up to Jerry in them! LOL
